A Newborn Session ~ Minneapolis, MN
I just cannot get enough of this little peanut! Not only did I get a trip to the hospital to see him, I also witnessed the whole pregnancy, and maternity shots! This little man is very close to my heart because his mother and I are good friends. The always gorgeous Juli gave birth to a whopping 10.5 lb healthy baby boy, not-so-little-Hugh. I try to always get newborn pictures done right away- within the first 10 days of life, since that is when the babies sleep the most and allow me to move them into fun poses… Anytime after that they are always moving around and usually wide awake with a look that says “Who are you and where is my Mom?!”
As life would happened, we struggled with getting all the shots done, I ended up making a second trip to make sure I got all the shots! So happy I did that, because they turned out amazing! I am pretty sure that by the time we finally got little Hughs newborn pictures done, he had already gained a whole pound! I think this little guy is definitely the biggest newborn I have ever taken pictures of, and I am perfectly ok with him keeping that crown!
Congrats again you guys, I am so excited and happy for you! Just can’t wait to watch him grow!
It’s A Boy! ~ Abbott Hospital ~ Minneapolis, MN
I am so excited to announce this “little” mans birth! As I am sure his Momma, Daddy and Big Sister are too! On Monday, December 21st at 5:45pm Mr. Hugh Lawrence Louis made his grand entrance into this world nine days over due at a whopping 10 pounds 5 ounces and 22.5 inches long!!! This blog is a little more personal to me because Juli and I have been friends for a long time, and this baby boy was big news! Our daughters are about the same age and they found out they were expecting on my daughters birthday! Taking pictures of family and friends just makes me love my job even more because I get to capture moments for them, like her maternity session and now her precious little one! So, when I found out that she FINALLY had him I rushed to the hospital the next morning! I just had to see him! We had been waiting on his arrival for so long I just could not get there fast enough!
Big sister and little brother pictures just warm my heart! I feel so blessed to be able to have captured big sister holding her new little brother for the first time. That is something that I hope she can look back on when she is older and cherish forever. She is so excited and proud to be a big sister. She has been waiting a long time for this.
Mom and Dad are just over the moon excited to have their son finally here! Grandma and Grandpa (her parents) flew in from California a few days before Hugh arrived so they were able to be there for them as much as they needed, which was a huge blessing for them. They had everything ready for the little guy to get here, and he just wasn’t ready yet!
Congrats again Sam, Juli and Big Sister Virginia! I cannot wait to watch your family and this guy grow!
Side Note: Baby Hugh was born at the same hospital I was born at in Minneapolis! Except baby Hugh was born in the beautiful new Mother Baby Center attached to Abbott Hospital! 🙂
Look at him! Isn’t he just perfect! 🙂
I was there to capture them looking over Baby Hugh’s Birth Certificate! Oh the memories!
What a happy big sister holding her brother for the first time!
1… 2… 3… 4… 5…. little finger!
Congrats you guys!! 🙂

A Newborn Session ~ Savage, MN
Watching little peanuts grow is one of the things I love about my job. I met this couple a few months ago, for their maternity session. They had no idea if they were having a boy or a girl. I LOVE that people still can find the self control to not find out… I have zero self-control!
This is little Westlyn, when she showed up, Mom and Dad were ecstatic that they had a beautiful baby girl! Little Westlyn is definitely already for the world and is trying to take in every moment of it, she was awake for most of our session! Which was great because I was able to get plenty of pictures of those beautiful eyes! I cannot wait to watch her grow! Congrats you two!
