A Baby Session – 6 Month Old ~ Burnsville, MN

I cannot believe how big Little miss Adrienne is getting! Six whole months already! Her sweet personality is definitely coming out, from sitting up on her own to being very alert to everything going on around her! I love seeing my clients grow! This cutie patutie definitely made me work much harder this time around, but we still got some amazing shots! Such a happy and smiley little girl, but once the camera came out nothing but seriousness! I was able to capture a couple little smiles and those big bright blue eyes. I cannot wait to see her again in a few months at her nine month session! Hopefully she will show off that precious dimple!

Thank you so much for letting me capture these adorable memories for you and your family! Adrienne is so sweet and I cannot wait to see you soon!

A Twin Newborn Session ~ Cottage Grove, MN

JWPhotography_01
I seriously cant even! They FINALLY arrived! These little cuties have been living their lives in the spotlights way before they were born! For those of you who don’t know, Miss Tasha is my wonderful assistant. Some of you may have met her at a wedding, on one of my crazy busy mini session days or at an expo running the booth with me. She is also my behind the scenes manager. If it wasn’t for her everything would probably still be sent by Morse code. Haha.
But back to these adorable babies! These two had their first debut around the same that big brother Oliver turned two and got to announce he was not get just one new sibling her was getting TWO! A few months later he also got to announce in a super fun gender reveal, using suckers (his favorite candy) that he was getting a baby brother and sister!

Watching Momma and these little itty peanuts (or should I say pumpkins!) grow over the next few months was so much fun!

The last week in January finally arrived, and these two were FINALLY ready to come out! Full term twinsies at 38 weeks 1 day! If your wondering why I have not mentioned their names yet, it’s because they chose to not tell anyone until the babies were born. This was crazy to me because Tasha cannot keep anything in, so it was interesting that she could hold this surprise so long! It was a killer!
Baby Preston and Baby Aria made their debut on January 28th. Everything went smoothly and according to plan. Baby Preston weighing in at a whopping 7lb.1oz and baby Aria just an itty bitty 5lbs. 6 oz. both healthy as can be! These two are so perfect. Big Brother Oliver was very excited to meet them, and wanted to hold his baby brother right away!
Now, what you all have been waiting for… more pictures of the babies below!
Congrats again to all of you! Thank you guys for letting me come along on your journey. I can’t wait for the many many more adventures to come!JWPhotography_365warm

Kayeden + Cassia 12.19.15 ~ Lakeville, MN

Cassia and Kayeden are just the cutest couple!!! Cassia and I met, which now seems forever ago, to talk about her big day and see if Jessica Wilson Photography was the right fit for her; and what she was looking for in a photographer. As it turns out, we both were pumped for what Minnesota ALWAYS has to offer us in winter months, SNOW! Well, we can never predict mother nature and what she is supposed to offer… The weather was a little off, all over the country, like Minnesota having NO SNOW in December! I was a little sad because I was looking forward to beautiful snowy shots. Then, I finally got to the Chart House, and the moment I saw how the ice on the lake glistened with the little bit of snow along the lake shore, it turned my frown upside down! The temperature that day was not forgiving either, so we had to move fast.

My best photographer moment ever was when I was trying to get a better angle so I took a few steps backwards out onto the lake. Kayeden looked at me with fear in his face and said he just saw fish swimming… right under the water where I was standing! With the lack of snow here in Minnesota, we also had a lack of cold weather so our lakes were not completely frozen yet either. That could have been very bad, but I have to do what I have to do to get the best shot! Despite the elements, your wedding turned out beautiful and I am so happy to have been a part of it.

Congrats again! I wish you two the best for many years to come!

A Newborn Session ~ Savage, MN

Watching little peanuts grow is one of the things I love about my job. I met this couple a few months ago, for their maternity session. They had no idea if they were having a boy or a girl. I LOVE that people still can find the self control to not find out… I have zero self-control!

This is little Westlyn, when she showed up, Mom and Dad were ecstatic that they had a beautiful baby girl! Little Westlyn is definitely already for the world and is trying to take in every moment of it, she was awake for most of our session! Which was great because I was able to get plenty of pictures of those beautiful eyes! I cannot wait to watch her grow! Congrats you two!

Holiday Mini Sessions in Lake Elmo, MN

I was so excited to do these holiday mini sessions outside and not in a studio! This was my very first stylized shoot where I put together this whole cute little set of favorite holiday items… My set consisted of hot cocoa, candy canes and marshmallows, lots of marshmallows, some snowflakes and cute pinecones! I had always wanted to do a session at a Christmas tree farm but being so busy this time of year, it just never happened. This year I was determined to make the time and block a day to do minis out at one! I searched all around the Twin Cities for the perfect tree farm. One that wasn’t to far north or too far south, since I have so many clients all over the metro, I really wanted to make sure it would work for anyone. I stumbled upon a small family owned tree farm in Lake Elmo that is so adorable, it was perfect for my sessions. I spent a full day out at Kruger’s Tree Farm in Lake Elmo, MN last weekend capturing 12 different families holiday pictures!

I started the day with the sun just coming up over the horizon. It made for a great first session of the day. The sun was in full force. It was shinning bright. But don’t let that fool you it was COLD! I had a blast getting to know new clients and seeing a couple of my regulars. Thank you everyone for making this day so fun! Your sessions turned out so wonderful and I can’t wait to see everyone again soon! Also, a shout out to my wonderful assistant Tasha who was 7 month pregnant (with twins!) and ran around all over the place for me!

A Fall Maternity Session ~ Bloomington, MN

For this maternity session I suggested we head down to 9 mile creek in Bloomington, since Kaitlyn and Dan live in Bloomington. I grew up in Bloomington, so this gem of a creek is special to me too! I remember being young with my friends walking though the creek, just having so much fun looking for frogs and any other creatures we could find. I say that this is a gem, because when you first get to this part of the creek, it doesn’t look like much. You pull into a very small parking lot with maybe 7 parking spots; then walk to a small opening in the trees where you are greeted by a huge, (I mean HUGE) steep set of stairs. You definitely feel the burn on the way back up. Directly at the bottom of the valley is a beautiful, flowing creek with a bridge and small rushing rapids, well, depends on the day if its rushing or not. That day we were lucky their hasn’t been too much rain here in Minnesota so the creek was pretty calm. Calm enough to climb out on the rocks.

I was a little nervous to let Kaitlyn out there especially in those gorgeous heels. UM… Yeah.. I give her huge props, she is about 35 weeks pregnant and still rocking those heels. I have a feeling this little baby girl will follow right in Moms footsteps and also be a girly girl!

Congrats again and I cannot wait to meet your little one at the end of the month!!!

Sarah and Charlie’s Wedding ~ Eko Backen in Scandia, MN

If I could, I would do everything in my power to make all weddings run as smoothly and perfectly as this one. From timing, to weather, to the views and the guests, everything was perfect. Yes EVERYTHING was running right on time which, anyone who has ever gotten married knows that something is always late or behind or taking too long… not this day! And the weather?! Oh, you mean the beautiful 70 degrees, with that perfect amount of breeze blowing in the right direction to get AMAZING shots kind of weather, yes we had that too. The views, words cannot even begin to describe the breath taking view over a valley, that I had the honor of capturing at just the right moment on this PERFECT day. I have to send a shout out to the bridal party as well, you guys were so cooperative and I didn’t have to yell at you to smile, or look at me or stand straighter, you all so wonderful. Last, but definitely not least, the actual Bride and Groom, Sarah and Charlie, you two brought on this perfect day. You two are clearly perfectly made for each other and I am so happy for you. Thank you for choosing me to capture one of the most important days of your lives. I had an absolute blast and cannot wait to catch more of your lives in the future! Congrats again!

A Newborn Session ~ Cottage Grove, MN

Meet little miss Eliana! I feel like I waited forever to meet her! I met her mom for the first time for maternity pictures a few months ago. She had her maternity session around six months so it just feel like so long ago! I was so happy when little baby Eliana came, I could finally meet her! Just look at those little toes! This is why I LOVE what I do! She is nothing but perfect and I cant wait to watch her grow. Thank you for letting me be a part of your story! I cannot wait to capture more memories of this little one!

A Family Session ~ St. Anthony on Main, Minneapolis, MN

When this mom suggested this location I was so excited, I had never shot photos there! I have shot photos in so many different locations that I felt like I had been to every nook and cranny of the Twin Cities. I had heard that St. Anthony on Main was beautiful and I should do a session there, but I always ended up shooting on the other side of the river (my comfort zone). I don’t know why it took me so long to finally do a session here!!! Main street has a small town feel with old, but kept up, cute little shops and a stair case that is every photographers dream! Then you head across that fabulous bridge on to Nicollet Island, which has so many fun spots to shoot photos at too!

I can’t believe this peanut is already ONE! It feels just like yesterday we were taking her newborn pictures! She is still to date my most smiley newborn I have ever taken pictures of and she still is, even a year later is such a smiley happy little girl. She is definitely surrounded by people who love her to pieces.

Featured Client Review ~ Somer ~ East Bethel, MN

Photography is a fast paced profession, and I strive to keep up with the world around us, always. The best way for me to keep up with the demands of modern technology is to get feedback from my clients. Every once in a while I’ll post a review from a client, to give my blog-readers another point of view. I can talk about myself and what I saw all I want, but for some people, they want to know what others think, so this is my Featured Client Review!

Somer writes:

“Since this is my first baby I had no idea what to expect for a newborn shooting. To say the least, it was super cool to see how Jessica works her magic. She comes in with backdrops, pillows, wraps, headbands, a bunch of other stuff for the session and the fun begins. She’s so good at picking out what looks good and everything was so cute!!! My daughter Georgia had some pretty extreme poop accidents during the shoot that she’ll definitely be reminded of when shes older… We were all laughing so hard and Jessica had the best attitude about it. Even though I had just met Jessica that day I felt so comfortable with her handling my brand new baby… I could just leave the room and let her do her thing. It was an awesome experience and I would recommend her to anyone.”
