Plymouth Creek Wedding Expo ~ Plymouth, MN

JWPhotography_wedding expo 2016

Yesterday I got the privilege to display my work at the Plymouth Creek Spring Wedding Expo! I have to first say thank you to Angie who put the whole event on, she did a wonderful job at coordinating and everything went so smoothly because of her expertise! I met so many new vendors here around the Twin Cities and a couple other fellow photographers I did not know and hope to work with in the future! Over all it was a wonderful show. The best part was meeting all of the beautiful brides, grooms, mothers, grandmothers, aunts and friends! You are what made the Plymouth Creek Wedding Expo fun and exciting! I loved hearing about how “he proposed” or just about your wedding planning! I had some great laughs with some of you and I feel like it we really hit it off. I look forward to possibly shooting some of your weddings in the near future!

Now to what The brides from the Plymouth Creek Wedding Expo are waiting for! I had a drawing for a FREE Engagement Session, no stings attached just a Free 1 hour engagement session with 15 edited digital images!

And the winner is….. Andrea Paulson!!!!!

Congratulations, I will be in touch with you soon!

Thank you all for entering into Jessica Wilson Photography’s drawing!I look forward to hearing more about the planning of your special day!

Behind the Scenes, Wedding Style ~ Red Wing, MN

I was adding finishing touches to this gorgeous wedding session that I shot in March at the St.James Hotel in Red Wing, MN and found this gem. The moment I saw it I giggled to myself because it brought me right back to that day, to that moment I clicked the button on my camera. I smiled as I thought back…

I was trying to figure out how in the world do I fix that curtain way up there. Stand on a chair? No… its not high enough. Stand on a table? No….. its still not high enough. So the monkey in me was like, “should I jump up there? But what if I fall and break a wrist? I won’t be able to shoot this wedding then!” Normally, I don’t get scared to do stuff like that but do you see how small that ledge is?!

All of a sudden, one of her bridesmaids says “watch out, I got this!” She then proceeds to kick off her slippers and shimmies her way up there like a pro! Seriously, I love moments like this! One, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this shot of her in mid motion going to fix the curtain. She did it with such elegance and grace (two things I wouldn’t have had jumping). And Two. We got the perfect dress shot with out me having to Photoshop the curtains. Win win for everyone!

I just had to share that little fun tid-bit of a behind the scene at this fabulous wedding!

Congratulations again to Chris and Katie!
