A Mommy & Son Session ~ Hastings, MN

I know I say this a lot, but I LOVE when sessions are made a little more sentimental to my clients by a location or a prop, and that is what happened here. Boys will be boys was the saying at this session. Little mister is definitely the typical full of energy exploring two year old boy! He was more than happy to play with his Moms childhood toy tractor. This tractor means a lot to Heather, and I love that I was able to catch a few moments of them together. Today, so many toys disappear or break so it is so precious that she kept something that was hers to share with her family.
We went to The Little Log house in Hastings, MN. This location is to die for! Did you ever wonder where the sign from the old Cottage Grove Drive-In went or the old Porkys sign? The Bauer family has created one amazing place to preserve these iconic signs and buildings. Once a year, the Bauer’s open the village to the general public to tour. I have already made a mental note to come by next year! But throughout the year it is available to rent for weddings or for any other special occasion, like family pictures! I am so happy Heather shared this beautiful gem in the outskirts of Hastings. I would have never knew it was there. I cannot wait to shoot another session there!

A Family Session ~ Minneapolis, MN

Meet Easton and his parents! That contagious smile might look familiar because Easton is the winner from my Cutest Kid Contest this last winter! His smile absolutely blew the competition for 1st place out of the water! Easton’s dad and I actually grew up a block away from each other in Minneapolis, I was good friends with his sister! When Eastons mom saw I was having the contest she was sure to submit photos of her little man. And he won! We decided Minneapolis would be a great location to do these photos because there are so many great places to shoot! Minneapolis has such a beautiful skyline, I had to get a few shots with it in the background! Easton was so much fun to get to smile- I even got a little serious with him to match his dad! I loved seeing you guys and thanks for the good laughs! I cannot wait to do another session soon!

A Family Session ~ Stone Arch Bridge ~ Minneapolis, MN

Meet the Hedgers Family! I met this family at ECFE (Early Childhood Family Education), which is a school like environment to take kiddos that are too young to go to preschool. Both of my children loved it I highly suggest finding a group in your city! I met them in class and our daughters clicked right away! I was so excited to take their pictures! Bubbles! Kiddos love bubbles and I LOVE taking pictures with bubbles! I am able to capture such real, genuine smiles! They both are getting so big already and I can’t believe it. It is going to be so fun watching them grow! It was really hot and sticky during these photos, but they turned out amazing! I love the tall grass and bridge in the background, really shows what Minnesota summers are all about! Family, sun, flowers and bubbles!!!

A Family Session ~ Lino Lakes, MN

Meet the Vander Laan Family! This session was a fly-at-the-seat-of-my-pants session, praying that the weather would hold out just long enough to get the full time in. It started to sprinkle during a little, but it actually wasn’t too bad. It was so hot and sticky so the light drizzle was wonderful to cool us down a bit. We moved to a field nearby to continue our session and get some different shots. This is where I thought I would take out my new pretty gold chair. I set it down and heard a snap!!! I looked down and realized one of the legs broke… I was super devastated, since this was going to be perfect for this session! But, a ray of sunshine poked through and we were able to rig something together to make it work- the kiddos and even dad was able to sit on it anyways!

But don’t worry, if you love the chair it will be back in business by Monday, my wonderful husband is going to fix it for me. I couldn’t have asked for a more patient and easy-going family, I hope to see them again soon!
